Defending their rights

“The JRS does not only visit refugees, but also defends who they are, what they have, what they want, what they regret, what they hope for. The JRS also directs its actions towards those who take decisions on fundamental human rights. To advocate for refugees also means advocating for their rights.” (Eddy Jadot S.J.- Founder of JRS Belgium)

Defending the rights of refugees and forced migrants is an essential part of our work. JRS Belgium also works to improve their living conditions. We want to influence the immigration policy in order to improve the lot of future generations of refugees. Refugees and forced migrants in detention centres are isolated from society. JRS Belgium wants to make their voice heard. That is why we want to raise awareness among politicians and the public about their living conditions.
