A day of connection, reflection and inspiration for CHANGE

On Wednesday, 26 August, we came together at JRS Belgium in Brussels for the national dissemination event of CHANGE, bringing together teachers, students, migrants and refugees, NGO partners and future collaborators.

It was a rich and inspiring day, filled with stories, music, reflection and meaningful exchange.

📸 We started with a photo exhibition featuring the personal stories of CHANGE witnesses — putting real experiences and voices at the heart of the day.

🎵 We took a moment to reflect on a powerful question: “What would you take with you if you suddenly had to leave your home tomorrow?” Accompanied by Turkish music, this reflection invited us to think about what we value, what we carry with us, and what we leave behind.

We then explored what CHANGE is about, got to know each other, and shared the results of the impact study. Teachers shared good practices and experiences from their work, while CHANGE witnesses brought their motivation and personal stories into the room.

The result? A truly rich and meaningful exchange of experiences and perspectives.

💬 Participants particularly highlighted the importance of personal encounters, access to accurate information, self-confidence, autonomy and multiculturalism. Those who participated in CHANGE reported positive effects on their confidence and autonomy, while new participants expressed interest in joining the project in the future.

The day also brought valuable recommendations for the future: greater involvement of teachers, parents, associations and young people, more intercultural activities, stronger collaboration between stakeholders, and continued support to make CHANGE sustainable in the long term.

❤️ Thank you to everyone who contributed their stories, experiences, questions and energy. Together, we are creating more opportunities for connection, participation and inclusion.
